The written assignment for this class is a short research paper. For the purpose of this assignemnt, you are a mangement consultant. The owner where you work has hired you to analyze the current mangement theory used by the top manager (or management team) The company is a Security agency that has failed to maintain several contract in the recent months. Ever since falling under new management, they began charging there client companies nearly double on there new contracts. They have also mandated that all guards work 12 hour shifts, instead of the regular 8 hours to cutdown on shift changes. All while denying raises and non-emergency time-off request. They have also altered the starting hourly pay for new guards, so now the more experienced guards who are not in management positions, recieve less pay than new hires. The previous management supplies employees with equipment to do the job (i,e vest and duty belt, firearm). The new management team requires all new hires to purchase there own equipment before starting. Clients have began to complain that guards are non-attentitive, showing up late, and even not showing up to work at all. Your job is to identify the issues and management theory being used and to make recommendations that will improve the operation of this business.
